Following are some cybersecurity terms.

Malware: Malicious code designed to infiltrate and harm computers and systems. This term is all-encompassing, and includes ransomware,
adware, viruses, etc.

Adware: Software that downloads onto a device and automatically displays or downloads ads when you’re offline.
Advanced Persistent Threats: A type of network intrusion that allows a cybercriminal to hide within a system and steal data while remaining undetected.

Antivirus: Software designed to detect and destroy computer viruses.

Attack vector: A specific path or method used by a cybercriminal to infiltrate a system.

Bad actor: A person who infiltrates and/or attacks IT systems. Also referred to as a threat actor or cybercriminal.

Bug: An unexpected, small security flaw found in software or a system.

Dark web: The part of the World Wide Web that can only be accessed using special software, allowing its contents to be untraceable by conventional search engines and its users to operate more anonymously.

Encryption: The process of converting data into a code in order to prevent unauthorized access.
Firewall: A security control that keeps traffic out of restricted areas in your network and prevents unauthorized background activity.

IP Address: A unique string of characters that identifies each computer and the connection to its network provider.

Kill switch: A VPN app security feature that automatically disconnects you from the internet if your VPN connection drops, preventing your real IP address from leaking.

Logs: Connection and activity data generated from VPN service usage. While some service providers collect and store this data, OLOW VPN is a zero-logs VPN provider.
