VPN Question
« on: January 24, 2017, 12:41:46 AM »
Hi,

I have the following question:

I am using IPVanish to surf in the www.
When I am starting my internet-connection, the IP of my Provider (swisscom) is visible. e.g. IP-Address: 178.199.178.xxx

When starting the IPVanish tool and connecting to a specific server IPVanish-Server, the new IP (the Servers-IP) will be given and shown for me. e.g. 78.134.12.xxx So far so good. e.

Now I found out, that if I have connected via Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Cilent to a VPN-Server, the IP Adress of this VPN-Server (the Provider) is shown in the IPVanish tool. e.g. 145.23.45.xxx.

This IP is visible in the www. This is not nice but not the problem.

The question is: is it possible for the provider of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Cilent Server to see my traffic in the www in the log files even if I have startet VPVanish?

I do not know exactly the way of my traffic then.
1. I connect to the internet, using my swisscom provider (IP is eg. 178.199.178.xxx
2. Then I start the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Cilent Server an log in to the Provider (IP is then eg. 134.23.78.xxx)
3. I start VPVanish and get a new IP from them (IP is then e.g. 56.45.123.xxx)

What of the traffic in the www when surfing then will the Provider in step 2 see.

I hope I could make it understandable

Thanks for your answer
