New to the VPN scene

Hello. I just have one question. When using a vpn, and it shows my ip address as one from another state or country, then my ISP doesn't know what I'm doing online. I mean, if I'm downloading a torrent, they don't know it. Correct? Thanks in advance.

VPN providers ensure that only the VPN IPs are visible to your ISPs. They would use Encrypted private tunnels for this purpose.
