wayback machine

Hi there. I have a security concern right now. So a little while ago, I was gonna use the Wayback Machine website and when I used a link or something to go there, I got this message saying that the site was doing some kind of a scam or something to steal people’s information. I can’t remember exactly, but if you go there right now, you won’t get the message but I think I used a link that gave me the message and I typed the link in myself and I think I remember that it took me to the site without giving me the message. I’m not sure if it was just some kind of fake link I’m a little bit worried right now because I just used the site to look at some archives and even though I’m using a VPN, they might have somehow gotten hold of my real IP. I don’t know, I could just be paranoid or something, but if someone knows more information about this situation, I want it to be clarified to me.
